- Which devices does Simply Read support?
- Simply Read is a universal app for iPhone and iPad, running on iOS. You can download it free from the App Store.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your settings, your place in each book, and your recent books are stored only on your device.
- Is my reading private?
- Yes. Simply Read has no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. Nothing about what you read leaves your device.
- How does the adaptive timing work?
- Simply Read estimates how hard each word is — from its length, syllable count, letter patterns, and how common it is — and holds harder words on screen a little longer, with natural pauses after punctuation.
- Can I read my own books?
- Yes. You can import any plain-text (.txt) file. See the Format guide for the best results, including how chapter detection works.
- How do I change the reading speed?
- Use the speed slider while reading. You can also pick a starting pace by age group during setup; your age is never stored — it only sets the initial speed.
- Are there in-app purchases or subscriptions?
- No. Simply Read is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads.
