Which devices does Simply Read support?
Simply Read is a universal app for iPhone and iPad, running on iOS. You can download it free from the App Store.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your settings, your place in each book, and your recent books are stored only on your device.
Is my reading private?
Yes. Simply Read has no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. Nothing about what you read leaves your device.
How does the adaptive timing work?
Simply Read estimates how hard each word is — from its length, syllable count, letter patterns, and how common it is — and holds harder words on screen a little longer, with natural pauses after punctuation.
Can I read my own books?
Yes. You can import any plain-text (.txt) file. See the Format guide for the best results, including how chapter detection works.
How do I change the reading speed?
Use the speed slider while reading. You can also pick a starting pace by age group during setup; your age is never stored — it only sets the initial speed.
Are there in-app purchases or subscriptions?
No. Simply Read is free, with no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads.
